A Northen Song Deep Bowl
ZHEJIANG PROVINCE, NORTHERN SONG DYNASTY, C. 11TH–12TH CENTURY This bowl is presumably from the Yue kilns in Zhejiang, with dark grey shard and clear glaze over white engobe, the dark grey and pink colors harmonize nicely with a very spirited compact crackling glaze (craquelé). The form is lightly angular outside, the opening diagonally offset. The foot and a strip of the inner rim are unglazed. This object is from the collection of Jürgen L.
