A Large Painted Pottery Model of a Foreigner
TANG DYNASTY (AD 618–907) This rare, large pottery model of a foreigner is made from a gray-colored pottery that has been cold-painted in a base coat of white pigment on top of which are orange, black, red and pink pigments. The figure stands with one hand held to his chest, and head turned to his left with large, bulging eyes. Oxford Authentication Thermolumiescence test no.
