A Massive Amber-glazed Pottery Figure of a Horse
SICHUAN PROVINCE, HAN DYNASTY (206 BC – AD 220) Powerfully modeled in a pose standing foursquare with head facing forward, proudly poised with the mouth open, the ears alertly pricked, the thick curved neck has a hogged mane, the legs supporting a muscular body, and a short detachable tail, all covered with a dark amber glaze. Earthenware with amber-colored glaze and red pigment 45.5 x 47.25 in. (116 x 120 cm.) The result of Daybreak Laboratory Sevices thermoluminescence test no. 363A698 is consistent with the dating of this lot. PRICE AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST
