NiGERIA, EARLY 20TH CENTURY
Four groups of figures stand equal distance from each other on this vessel. Snakes intertwine from couple to couple. A rare, tiny pale green teardrop shaped jewel is threaded through the right earlobe of one of the “mother figures.” Each of the couples are intimate and physically caressing.
