GHANA, CA. LATE 19TH TO EARLY 20TH CENTURY A full, exaggerated round moon face with elongated voluptuously raised eyebrows joined to a straight nose ending above a curved upper lip of a small pouting mouth. The "moon disc" head cantilevered on a reverse "L" shaped neck with exaggerated neck vertebrae of four tapered, cone-shaped units. Small, rounded, tense chest with pointed slender tubular breasts. Protruding torso and navel, rounded, exaggerated, full buttocks, thighs and calves create a sense of power in this figure. Wood with a dark, smooth lustrous patina 18 x 4.875 in. (45.2 x 12.38 cm.)
