The Woodpecker

FRANK WILLIAMS American (b. 1952) This piece started with the initials “FFW” which I had carved onto a tree in 1969. From there I started chronicling more names and moments from my life. The woodpecker made his debut towards the end of the painting process — carving its own initials in the trees. Watercolor on Arches paper, 2018 20.75 x 29 in. (52.7 x 73,66 cm.)
