Mindlessness (after Magritte)
FRANK WILLIAMS American (b. 1952) This painting was actually done as an illustration assignment when I was in college. We were given a line drawing of this classic Greek sculpture head and told “to do something with it.” So I borrowed from a painting by René Magritte, Le Château des Pyrénées (The Castle of the Pyrénées) painted in 1959, and came up with this! Acrylic on illustration board. 10 x 12.75 in. (25.4 x 32.39 cm.) SOLD Giclée prints of this painting are available upon request.
